-progressive bulbar palsy 
-progressive spinal muscular atrophy 
-poliomyelitis
-anterior spinal artery occlusion 
-acute porphyria
-hematomyelia
-motor neurone disease
-peroneal muscular atrophy
-intramedullary neoplasm
