Differential diagnosis of correctable dementia are :
-head injury -HIV infection -normal pressure hydrocephalus -subdural hematoma -frontal lobe tumours -pellagra -meningitis -syphilis -toxins - bromide, arsenic, heavy metals, alcohol, lead, carbon monoxide -drugs - methyldopa, beta blockers and phenobarbitone -Cushing's Syndrome -hypothyroidism -panhypopituitarism -Addison's Disease -uremia ( renal dysfunction) -hepatic dysfunction -folate deficiency -vitamin B1 deficiency -vitamin B12 deficiency
