-perforation of the esophagus
-rupture of the esophagus
-direct spread of lung infection 
-lung abscess pneumonia
-sub diaphragmatic abscess
-actinomycosis
-mediastinal infection 
-secondary infection of pleural effusion 
-thoracic surgery secondary infection of the pleural 
-infection of broncho pleural fistula 
-hematogenous spread of pyogenic infection from distant organ
