Differential diagnosis of hypokalemia due to renal loss are :
-primary hyperaldosteronism -secondary hyperaldosteronism due to renal artery stenosis, malignant hypertension, ascites, cirrhosis , congestive cardiac failure, Cushing Syndrome, Cushing Disease, ectopic ACTH production, Liddle Syndrome, Gitelman Syndrome, Bartter Syndrome, licorice ingestion, renal hemangiopericytoma ( Renin secreting tumor), excess use of chewing tobacco, renal tubular acidosis, drugs, toxin - penicillin, carbenicillin, L-DOPA, Thallium, Lithium, amphotericin B, osmotic diuresis, diuresis during the recovery from acute renal failure or obstruction, acute leukemia, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hypomagnesemia
