DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF POOR PROGNOSIS IN PNEUMONIA

Differential diagnosis of poor prognosis in pneumonia are : 
-pre existing systemic disease
-leukopenia
-immunocompromised patient
-below 5 years of age
-over 55 years of age
-infection with type 3 pneumococcus
-bacteremia
-multicellular involvement
-extra pulmonary lesion such as cerebral abscess
