Acceptable Daily Intake or ADI is the amount of food additive which could be taken on daily basis for the entire life span without risk. Acceptable Daily Intake is considered by calculating the highest dose of the substance which has no effect on experimental animals later dividing it by a safety factor of 100. Substance with no adverse effect at any level of intake has no Acceptable Daily Intake.
