Adenine is one of the purine base of the nucleic acid ( DNA or RNA). Adenine is a nucleotide. Adenine is formed from four phosphorylated derivatives which are important in metabolism such as adenosine triphosphate, adenosine diphosphate, adenosine monophosphate and cyclic adenosine monophosphate.
