Useful in production rule system and expert system where inference process is involved in artificial intelligence. For instance, there may be order like if acne then red spot so that when acne is detected red spot appeared. 
However acne is not logically sound due to inherent uncertainty in comparison with deduction. 
Plausible reasoning technique may involve abduction.
