Above the line may also mean the expenditure on the advertising such as press, television, radio, posters and other forms of mass medias.The agency will usually charge commission not based on flat fee. It may also denote the upper part of the profit and loss account of the company based on the ending at a particular financial year which excludes any entries on profit distribution .
