Accepting house is an institution which is specialized in accepting and guaranteeing the bills of exchange. In the case of guaranteeing payment a service fee will be charged which enable the bill to be discounted at preferential rates on the money market. 
 
Due to the  decline in the use of the bills of exchange, it has caused the Accepting House to widen their financial activities and may have return to the previous role as merchant banks.
